The 3d scanner has been out for about a year and 1 half now. sales have been good and the customers report good results. We are also working on a topographical 3D scanner that we hope to have ready this summer. See www.Grasp3d.com for a preview.
This 3Dcircumference scanner is easier to use, and has a turntable that will rotate an object 360 degree. The scanner uses an off the shelf low cost video camera to record the scan line as the object is being rotated.. A micro processor control circuit turns on and off a LED which is detected by the software to indicate the start (0 degrees) and end (360 degrees.) The kit consists of the software scanner program, viewer and builder programs. The hardware portion will has the turntable kit and a laser line kit ( assembly required) for positioning the laser. The kit price is$395 an assembled add $35 for an assembled unit.
